Portfolio: Traditional Korean Dancheong Pattern Cat Illustration
안녕하세요, 한국 전통의 미학과 현대적인 감성을 결합하여 일상의 소중함을 시각화하는 디자이너 타미(Tommy)입니다. 이번에 소개해 드릴 프로젝트는 한국 전통 문양인 ‘단청’과 신비로운 분위기의 고양이를 조화롭게 구성한 일러스트 포트폴리오입니다. 고궁이나 사찰에서 볼 수 있는 화려하고 정교한 단청 무늬를 배경으로, 초승달 아래 앉아 있는 반려묘의 모습을 서정적으로 담아냈습니다. 전통적인 색감과 문양을 현대적인 캐릭터 일러스트에 녹여내어 한국적인 아름다움을 친근하게 전달하고자 했으며, 문화 굿즈나 패키지 디자인, 반려동물 관련 브랜딩에 한국적인 가치를 더할 수 있는 독창적인 비주얼 솔루션입니다.
Hi, I’m Tommy, a designer who visualizes the preciousness of daily life by combining traditional Korean aesthetics with modern sensibilities. This project features an illustration portfolio that harmoniously combines “Dancheong,” the traditional Korean decorative coloring, with a mystical cat motif. Set against the backdrop of elaborate and vibrant Dancheong patterns typically found in ancient palaces and temples, I poetically captured a companion cat sitting beneath a crescent moon. By integrating traditional colors and patterns into a modern character illustration, I aimed to convey Korean beauty in an approachable way. This is a creative visual solution ideal for cultural merchandise, package design, or pet-related branding looking to add authentic Korean value.
