Portfolio: Friendly Gorilla & Orangutan Character Logo Design

Hi, I’m Tommy, a designer who creates brand mascots by infusing vibrant personalities into the unique characteristics of animals. This project features a character logo design portfolio that reinterprets gorillas and orangutans—symbols of strength—with a friendly and cute sensibility.

While maintaining the reliable silhouette characteristic of primates like gorillas, orangutans, and chimpanzees, I added round, kind eyes and witty expressions to establish an image of a “friendly supporter” that is easily accessible to the public. By utilizing simple and clear lines, I maximized the character’s personality, ensuring the design is versatile for various color variations and merchandise production. This identity is optimized for businesses requiring a bold yet gentle brand identity, such as kids’ brands, outdoor apparel, fitness centers, and cafe mascots. It is a premium character branding solution that provides strong visual immersion across all media and helps build a brand fandom.
