Portfolio: Gyeongju City Expo & Cultural Conference Poster Design

Hi, I’m Tommy, a designer who connects a region’s long-standing historical assets with modern expo concepts through sophisticated layouts. This project features a poster design portfolio created for a city expo and conference themed around Gyeongju City.

I visualized the harmony between the tradition of the millennium-old capital and the future-oriented nature of the expo by integrating silhouettes of Gyeongju’s identity, such as Cheomseongdae (Observatory), Seokguram Grotto, and serene Hanoks, into modern graphic motifs. Specifically, this project was designed to encompass professional academic events, such as medical and medicine conferences, by applying organized typography and a trustworthy color palette. This design is perfectly optimized for projects that require both official credibility and visual attention, such as local government-led expos, international conferences, academic seminars, and regional cultural festivals. It is a premium city branding and poster solution that elevates the dignity of the event while communicating the profound value of Gyeongju to domestic and international visitors.
